One person was hospitalized after a two-car collision in south Reno Friday evening.

It happened at South McCarran Boulevard and Rio Poco Road.

According to a Reno Police spokesperson, the westbound lanes on South McCarran Boulevard are closed at Rio Poco Road.

The extent of the hospitalized person’s injuries is currently unknown.

It is also unknown whether impairment or speed played a role in the accident.

Avoid the area if possible.
