Liam Payne’s death sparks debate among X Factor judges

Liam Payne’s death has hit a nerve in the music industry and devastated friends and colleagues.

During an exclusive interview with News.co.uk Speaking about protecting and safeguarding stars on television, Dame Caroline Dinenage said: “The tragic death of Liam Payne reopens the debate about how we protect people who have achieved incredible fame at a young age.

“This is something the committee has spoken about regularly with television executives who appear before us.”

Payne began his career as a contestant on ITV The X Factor In 2008 and 2010, after he founded show creator Simon Cowell’s successful boy band One Direction with four other candidates.

However, after the singer fell to his death from the balcony of an Argentine hotel in Buenos Aires, many of his friends claimed that he lacked support, as is the case with several other young stars who find fame through TV shows.

Former X factor Judge Sharon Osbourne mourned the late singer’s tragic death on Instagram in a post that read: “We have failed you all. Where was this industry when you needed it?”

“You were just a child when you entered one of the toughest industries in the world. Who was in your corner?”

Meanwhile, another X Factor contestant highlighted the need for change in the music industry.

She wrote: “Underlines the urgent need for change in the music industry.”
