The murder case is opened after a man dies weeks after the knife attack

A man has died weeks after a stabbing attack in southwest London that sparked a murder investigation, according to the Metropolitan Police.

Omarkafi Sahal, 28, was found injured at World’s End Estate, Chelsea, at around 9pm BST on September 30.

He was taken to the hospital, where he remained until his death on October 17, officials added.

Three men were charged in connection with the incident and appeared in court before his death.

On Friday, the Met Police said it would contact the Crown Prosecution Service to determine whether the charges would be changed.

Det Ch Insp Alison Foxwell, from the police homicide investigation unit, said: “This is a tragic development and my thoughts are with Omarkafi’s family at this time.”

“Prior to Omarkafi’s death, three men were charged as part of this investigation and work is currently underway to review these allegations where appropriate.

“However, I would like to stress that the charges do not mark the end of our investigation and I would ask anyone with information who has not yet spoken to police to contact us as soon as possible.”

“Your information could still be crucial to our investigation.”
