Shot down UAV debris leaves injured woman in Kyiv

A woman in Kiev was injured in an attack by Russian kamikaze drones. At the same time, all disposable attack UAVs targeting the capital were intercepted.

According to the military administration of the city of Kiev, in the early hours of October 19, Ukrainian air defense forces intercepted all kamikaze drones that Russia fired towards Kiev, Ukrinform reports.

“Another air strike by Russian forces on Kyiv. Tonight the invaders attacked the capital of Ukraine with unmanned aerial vehicles. The enemy’s tactics remain unchanged – the UAVs are approaching the city from different directions. The air alert in the capital lasted more than three and a half hours, the defense forces intercepted all Russian drones that threatened the capital,” noted the head of the government, Serhii Popko.

Mayor Vitali Klitschko wrote that a woman was injured by drone debris.

“A woman was injured in an enemy attack in the Darnytsia district of the capital. She has been hospitalized and is undergoing surgery,” he wrote.

According to the mayor, a small piece of UAV debris crashed through the balcony window of the woman’s apartment.

In return, the administration announced that the attack had damaged the facade of an apartment building and damaged a parked vehicle.

“A young woman suffered a serious injury to her lower extremity,” the report continued.

During the airstrike, air defense units were deployed throughout the capital, the administration wrote.

An air raid alarm was raised in several regions of Ukraine on Saturday night.

The Air Force had previously warned of several groups of enemy disposable attack drones that were spotted in Ukrainian airspace over various regions, including approaching Kiev.
