Teen charged with assault with firearm

A 14-year-old boy has been charged with a range of offenses including assault and intimidation after he was allegedly found carrying a weapon.

Police arrested the teenager in the NSW New England region on Friday afternoon following reports of a suspected domestic violence incident.

According to police, the 14-year-old was said to be in possession of a firearm after a violent altercation on October 16th.

Officers executed a search warrant at a home and allegedly found a number of items there, including a knife and a motorcycle.

The teenager was taken to Narrabri police station and charged with seven offenses including being armed with intent to commit an indictable offence.

He was charged with domestic violence offenses including two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, two counts of criminal damage to property, stalking or intimidation with intent to cause fear of bodily harm and common assault.

The 14-year-old was granted a strict bail condition to appear in a children’s court on October 31.

The police investigation is ongoing.
