Teen arrested in fatal shooting of Hartwell student

The GBI has arrested and charged a teenager from Anderson, South Carolina, in the death of Bry’shun Treviyus O’Brien Jordan of Hartwell.

Authorities have booked 18-year-old Jarquavious Demetriun Scott into the Anderson County Jail on a murder charge. According to a GBI press release, Scott is awaiting extradition to Georgia.

Jordan, a 15-year-old Hart Academy student, was one of several people shot outside the 7 Grands nightclub on Evergreen Drive in Elbert County on Saturday, Oct. 12. At least seven others were injured in the incident.

The GBI did not provide any information about what led to Scott’s arrest. At the request of the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office, the GBI is leading the investigation into the fatal shooting.
