October is for lovers. Halloween lovers, that is.

For those who love a spooky, spooky story or just the sight of a perfectly plump pumpkin, there are plenty of activities:

• Halloween Booo With the Bugs: Don’t worry, none of the tropical insects you see at the John May Museum Center will crawl and crawl over your skin. They are dead and on display, allowing you to see exactly what could pass over you in the middle of the night. • Harp Twins Halloween: The identical harp twins Camille and Kennerly Kitt have managed to bring the old instrument into trend. The internationally known duo will pick spooky songs and classic rock favorites and perform comedy to celebrate the fall holidays. And if a pair of crowd-pleasing twins isn’t enough, the male Volfgang twins round out the show by playing their double drums, Saturday, 7 p.m., Stargazers Theater & Event Center, 10 S. • Creepy Crawly Collections: If a spooky piece of visual art has never made your spine tingle, head to the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center at Colorado College, where the museum collections team is exhibiting a selection of eerie works in the Agents of Care gallery. The free event will take place on Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. The works can also be viewed through Oct. 26 at FAC, 30 W. Two film festivals return to Colorado Springs this weekend

• Pumpkin hike: Carved pumpkins decorate the path as a storyteller tells stories about the Hunter’s Moon and the disappearance of Sumner Osborn, a settler who lived in Mueller in the early 1900s.
