The Morgan Wallen concert brings thousands of Carolinians to Charlotte for a show at the Bank of America

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) – Tens of thousands of Carolinians flocked to Bank of America Stadium on Friday to witness country star Morgan Wallen’s two-day stay in Charlotte.

The show was originally scheduled for July, but was postponed until October after Wallen became ill.

“I had to go to work the day I was supposed to come here in July,” said Haley Culler, visiting from Winston-Salem. “I’ve been grieving and listening to Morgan all day, so I’m excited.”

The influx of concertgoers clogged the streets around Bank of America Stadium. Patience was a small price to pay for excited fans who waited three months to see Wallen.

“We were in traffic for maybe 45 minutes to an hour, but we were just excited to get here,” said Rusty Anderson, who was visiting with friends from North Augusta.

The second night of Wallen’s stadium stop in Charlotte will be Saturday night.

“Oh, it’s Morgan, he’s the GOAT of country music right now. He pulls numbers like no one else, you can see the atmosphere in Charlotte right now, we don’t have many people like that,” said Christian Braswell, born and raised in Charlotte.

Even with Wallen in town, Bank of America Stadium will still be an early voting site on Saturday.

Mecklenburg County voters can vote at the stadium on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m
