Friday injury report updates for Tennessee, Alabama

Friday injury report updates for Tennessee, Alabama

No. 11 Tennessee and No. 7 updated their injury reports on Friday, with the Vols removing the redshirt freshman Lance Heard and redshirt freshman running back Cameron Seldon from the report. Heard had been listed as probable and Seldon as questionable in the previous two days.

The final injury report update will be released at approximately 2:00 p.m. ET on Saturday.

Tennessee (5-1, 2-1 SEC) had no changes on Wednesday and Thursday. Heard missed the Oklahoma game on Sept. 21 because of an ankle problem, but played in Tennessee’s final two games. Seldon hasn’t played since Oklahoma.

Seldon has completed seven carries for 47 yards this season and has also been deep on kickoffs for Tennessee. All seven carries came against Chattanooga in Tennessee’s season-opening 69-3 victory Aug. 31 at Neyland Stadium. He returned a kickoff against the Mocs for 35 yards.

The SEC requires availability reports to be released on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays prior to conference games, with the final update occurring 90 minutes before kickoff on Saturday.

Players are listed on SEC availability reports as available, probable, questionable, doubtful or out for their next game. Updates will be available on game day, game time decision or out.

SEC violation reports

The SEC released “availability reports” for football, basketball and baseball in August.

“This availability reporting policy is intended to reduce pressure from outside entities seeking participation information,” SEC Commissioner said Gregor Sankey“and represents a commitment from our 16 institutions to provide greater transparency to support efforts to protect our student-athletes and the integrity of competition.”

Players are listed as available, probable, questionable, doubtful or not for their next game. Updates will be available on game day, game time decision or out.

Schools that fail to provide accurate and timely availability reports will be subject to penalties ranging from $25,000 for first violations to $100,000 for “third and subsequent” football violations. Fines for men’s basketball, women’s basketball and baseball range from $15,000 to $25,000.
