Danvers teen arrested in connection with middle school attack

DANVERS — A 15-year-old male was arrested and charged with multiple counts of assault following an attack at Holten Richmond Middle School/Plains Park, the Danvers Police Department said Friday.

Authorities obtained an arrest warrant for the teen on Oct. 18 and took him into custody later that day around 1:30 p.m. He faces charges including two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and intimidation due to disability. and assault and battery on a person with a mental disability.

The incident, which occurred on October 12, prompted an immediate response from local law enforcement.

Danvers police have said they are working closely with the Essex County District Attorney’s Office during the ongoing investigation.

Officials emphasized the seriousness of the allegations, particularly those related to intimidation and assault due to disability.

Because the investigation is ongoing and a juvenile is involved, police did not want to release any further details at this time.
