Walking Dead: Daryl-Carol reunion in “Daryl Dixon”.

AMC revealed the first 14 minutes of Sunday’s episode of “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol” during New York Comic Con on Friday, which featured the reunion between Norman Reedus’ Daryl Dixon and Melissa McBride’s Carol Peletier .

“The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol” picks up where the first season of “Daryl Dixon” left off and follows fan-favorite characters Daryl Dixon (Reedus) and Carol Peletier (McBride). Both must confront old demons as she struggles to find her boyfriend and he struggles with his decision to stay in France, causing tension in the nest. Furthermore, Genet’s (Anne Charrier) movement gains momentum, putting Pouvoir on a violent collision course with the Union of Hope in the fight for the future of France.

The opening sneak peek of Episode 4, which was not included in the NYCC livestream and was intended solely for fans in attendance at the Javits Center panel, showed the moment Carol finds Daryl in prison in France.

Reedus broke down his reaction to the emotional plot point for Daryl, saying, “The only person in the world he needs is right there.”

“It’s hard for me to watch this and not tear up a little bit, as cheesy as that sounds,” Reedus said. “The thing about this relationship is when we started [‘The Walking Dead’]it was about Rick. The show was about Rick. It was about Rick’s journey and everyone around Rick, right? And it branched out into everything. But these two characters have been looking out for each other the whole time. And they got bigger. And then we got Cherokee Rose, and then that was a thing. And they’ve always been close, and they both come from a place of abuse, and they’ve just always supported each other. When you see her on screen now, it’s deserved. It’s not two actors playing someone’s role. They know each other, it’s real. So when we do scenes together and she breaks down in tears, I cry too. The bond is so strong, but you can feel it’s real.”

McBride added: “Norman and I don’t rehearse much or talk much about scenes we’re going to do. We just act as the character, knowing where we are in the story and letting things happen as we shoot. And that’s what I love about working with Norman; you never know what you’re going to get. And it’s always so fun and wonderful and surprising.”

In addition to Reedus and McBride, the panel discussion “Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol” also included Scott M. Gimple, chief content officer of the “Walking Dead” universe, showrunner David Zabel, director and executive producer Greg Nicotero and actor Louis Puech Scigliuzzi part.
