Experience reports: Ski exchange set for this weekend

If you need new winter gear, you’re in luck.

The 60th annual Mt. Spokane Ski Patrol Ski Swap will be held Saturday and Sunday at the Spokane County Fair and Expo Center.

According to the swap meet’s website, it is the region’s largest winter gear sales event. Thousands of new and used items are available for sale, including equipment and clothing for all types of winter sports.

Ski patrollers and shop staff are on hand to help people find the right equipment for their skill level.

The exchange is open Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Admission is $5. Children up to 12 years have free entry.

Anyone who would like to sell their equipment can register and drop off the items on Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Collection of unsold equipment takes place on Sundays from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m

The Washington Fish and Wildlife Commission meets this weekend in Ellensburg

The panel that oversees Washington’s wildlife management will meet this week in Ellensburg.

The Washington Fish and Wildlife Commission will meet Thursday through Saturday, starting with a tribal relations training session on Thursday and then its regular meeting on Friday and Saturday.

Thursday’s practice is open to the public but will not be streamed online. Friday and Saturday sessions will be streamed online.

Commissioners are expected to decide Friday on an update to a co-management agreement with the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation. They are also expected to vote on salmon management in the Grays Harbor Basin.

An update on the black bear hunting season is scheduled for Friday afternoon.

Public comments will be accepted on both Friday and Saturday. Registration is possible on the Commission’s website.
