Colorado Springs police car damaged after being hit by a suspected drunk driver

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – A Colorado Springs police car was damaged after it was hit by a suspected drunk driver around 11:30 Thursday night.

According to Colorado Springs police, the accident occurred on South Circle near Airport Road.

Police said they pulled someone over and before the officer got out of the vehicle, the suspected drunk driver drove into the stopped patrol car.

Police said there were minor injuries but no one was taken to hospital. The patrol car was damaged and had to be towed from the scene.

According to police, the driver faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol.
