Taunton mayor in court over domestic violence

TAUNTON, Mass. (WLNE) – Taunton Mayor Shauna O’Connell attended a hearing Friday into a domestic violence case that began in July.

O’Connell was accused of biting and hitting her husband during an argument.

A judge rejected a request from the mayor’s legal team to dismiss assault charges against O’Connell, saying the couple had since “reconciled.”

The jury trial is scheduled to begin in December.
