Harmony’s haunted house is designed to give you a “good scare.”

Organizers hope more people will visit the Harmony Haunted House, located this year in an old church near downtown Sarnia.

The haunted house opened on October 4th and will continue to operate on weekends through October 27th.

“Everyone who has experienced this has come back and said how wonderful it is this year, which we are very happy about.” [with]said Paul Kearney, President of Harmony for Youth.

He said they saw about 50 to 60 guests per night, which is less than previous events.

“We’re not a splatter house, we’re not a gore house. Our idea is to take you out of your comfort zone and give you a really nice scare,” Kearney said.

Live actors will be stationed throughout the haunted house.

“If someone uses our safe word ‘harmony,’ it will freeze all of our actors and give them the opportunity to see all the sets and everything,” Kearney said.

The haunted house is open Fridays and Saturdays from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Sundays from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The church is located on the corner of George Street and Brock Street.

Admission is $15 per person or $60 per family. Money raised will benefit Harmony for Youth, a local organization that provides music programs for youth ages 12 to 18.

Harmony’s Haunted House returned last year after a brief hiatus.

Kearney said the organization is currently running guitar and keyboard programs and plans to restart its choir in November.
