Muncie man charged with sexual abuse of a child

MUNCIE, Ind. – A 70-year-old Muncie man was arrested Thursday after being accused of sexually abusing a 4-year-old girl.

Richard Leroy Wolfe has been preliminarily charged with child molestation, a Level 1 felony punishable by up to 40 years in prison. He was being held in the Delaware County Jail on $50,000 bail.

According to an affidavit, on Sept. 7, a Muncie police officer received a report from the Indiana Department of Child Services that contained allegations against Wolfe.

According to the report, the child had drawn a picture of a man with male genitalia visible.

During an interview on September 30, the four-year-old girl reportedly reported incidents in which Wolfe touched the child’s genitals.
