Brazos Valley Fair & Rodeo enters its second weekend with more animals and entertainment

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – It’s going to be a packed weekend at the Brazos Valley Fair & Rodeo.

Starting Friday, families can enjoy rodeo, carnival, concession stands, concerts, animal exhibits and educational activities.

One of these activities is the Farm Bureau Bus at the Exhibition Center. It shows how agriculture is integrated into everyday life through games and illustrations.

Another interactive activity is the AgLand Barn. It’s a free experience where children can learn about farming and meet different animals such as goats, deer, a zebra and a kangaroo.

“Seeing more people learning about the industry I love really shows how important it is. Especially now because many children don’t know where their food and clothes come from. So learning more about agriculture really helps educate the public,” said Brazos Valley Fair & Rodeo Junior Ambassador Riley Stokes.

More animals will be in action at the Extreme Dogs Stunt Show, Sealion Splash Show and Swifty Swine Pig Races over the weekend.

There will also be musical performances throughout the weekend. Bart Crow will perform on Friday, Lonestar will headline on Saturday and Grupo Secretto will close out the weekend on Sunday.

Further details and tickets can be found here.

For $5 off tickets, participants can donate five cans or non-perishable items to the Brazos Valley Food Bank. For example: canned corn or green beans and soup.

This is the first time the food bank has partnered with Fair & Rodeo to kick off the holiday giving season.

Food containers will be placed at the entrance for people to drop off donations. In return, a food bank representative will provide you with a fair voucher that you can take with you at checkout to receive the discount.
