Santa Rosa Junior College police evacuated the Call Child Development Center Friday morning, but issued an alert at 11:03 a.m. that the area was clear and it was possible to return safely.

“We were just told that something was found at the site and because we have children, we evacuated them for safety reasons,” said Stefani Oseguera, a family services worker at Call Child Development Center.

The construction zone is directly behind the building.

At 9:45 a.m., an urgent SRJC alert was sent out to the college community asking students and faculty to “Avoid the area near the Call Child Development Center due to police activity.”

The warning also said there was no immediate danger.

Nearly 40 minutes later, another SRJC alert was sent out informing the community that the Call Child Development Center was being evacuated. Parents were instructed to pick up their children at Haehl Pavilion.
