Accident in Renville County – My KLGR

At approximately 6:34 a.m. on October 18, 2024, the Renville County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding two individuals who had fallen from a scaffold in a storage tank at the Southern MN Beet Sugar Coop in rural Renville County. This location is located in the 83XXX block of County Road 21, approximately two (2) miles northeast of the town of Renville in Emmet Township

The preliminary investigation revealed that two people, Chance Anderson (22 years old) of Adams, Minnesota and Tedrick Coleman (30 years old) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, were working on the scaffolding while co-workers attempted to reposition the overturning scaffolding, causing it to overturn the two males fell about 10 to 12 meters deep.

Both victims were removed from the storage tank and received medical attention at the scene by emergency responders.

Tedrick was flown from the scene with LifeLink III to St. Cloud Hospital with suspected serious injuries. Anderson was transported by Olivia Ambulance to Olivia Airport, where LifeLink III then flew him to St. Cloud Hospital. Anderson also suspects serious injuries.

Assisting agencies on scene included Olivia Ambulance Service, Renville Fire Department, Granite Falls Ambulance and LifeLink III.

The Renville County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident.
