Two dead after serious crash on SH-6, DPS says the driver was driving on the wrong side of the road

MARLIN, Texas (KWTX) – Two people are dead in a serious accident on SH-6 in Marlin where the driver was driving on the wrong side of the road, according to authorities.

On Thursday at approximately 7:58 p.m., Texas DPS responded to a crash on Business SH-6 near CR-2885 south of Marlin.

After an investigation, traffic police determined that a northbound Cadillac CTS drove onto the wrong side of the road and crashed into a Chevrolet Spark.

The driver of the Chevrolet, Jerry Hocking, 39, of Mart, and the passenger in the car were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Cadillac was taken to Baylor Scott and White in Waco with a non-life-threatening injury.

The passenger in the Chevrolet will be identified once next of kin is notified. The investigation is still active and ongoing.
