Join PNW CHESS as we celebrate Hispanic heritage with Piñatas, Paso Doble y Provecho! As part of our Building Community Through the Arts program, this celebration features kid-friendly games, professional dancing (by Tyler Dean Dancesport), amazing food, face painting and amazing giveaways.

We are pleased to invite you to participate in our Day of the Dead (Día de Los Muertos) altar exhibit, which will be on display at the Student Union Library Building (SULB) starting next week through November 4th.

This vibrant and meaningful tradition honors and celebrates the lives of our departed loved ones.

What is the Day of the Dead?

The Day of the Dead is a tradition dating back thousands of years, rooted in indigenous customs. Celebrated on November 1st and 2nd, it is a time of remembering and honoring deceased family members and friends.

How to take part

We invite you to contribute to our altar by bringing photos of your departed loved ones. There are two ways to submit your photos:

E-mail: Send your photos to [email protected].

Personal: Bring your physical photos to our HSI office at Lawshe 226D. If no one is in the office, please leave your photos in the box marked “Images.”

Important information

Enter your name, email address and phone number physical photo submissions to ensure we can send it back to the correct person.

The altar exhibition can be viewed and participated in until November 4th.

We appreciate the beautiful and warm contributions from our community. Your participation will help create a meaningful and inclusive exhibition that honors the memories of those who have died.
