The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating an attack on a man posing as a dentist in Fairfield.

Officials said on Oct. 14, Fairfield Police Department officers responded to a report of an assault at 363 Route 46.

On arrival they spoke to a woman who claimed she had been attacked by Jonathan Colombo, 31, from Orange.

According to the victim, she had seen Colombo’s social media profiles where he was advertising discounted dental veneers under the Instagram usernames “newyoudental” and “newyousmiles.”

After discussing the procedure and agreeing on a price, she made an appointment at Colombo’s office for October 14, 2024.

After the dental procedure, the woman reported being exposed to explicit contact.

Colombo was arrested the next day, October 15, 2024, by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office (ECPO) and Fairfield Police for practicing dentistry without a license.

The investigation is still ongoing.
