The residents move out of the House of Broken Prisms.

Effective October 28, the ingenious but attendance-dependent attraction Particle Ink will end. An internal Luxor memo states: “We appreciate their partnership and their bold, unique vision that was brought to life during the run.”

Particle Ink was installed in the hotel’s former wedding chapel on the hotel’s mezzanine floor and was previously presented as Speed of Light in a converted downtown warehouse opposite the English Hotel. The House of Shattered Prisms project opened in Luxor in April.

The Luxor venue was led by visionaries like the executive producer Cesar Hawas And Jennifer TuftsCo-CEO of the production company Kaleidoco. Hawas said Thursday morning that the venue had hosted just over 200 performances.

The walking tour experience was presented with two options: the guided, performance-oriented show in the evening and the Wanderlust version, which was self-guided and played during the day. The experience was highlighted by a bubbling pond, projected images such as a woman holding an umbrella to ward off a storm of glowing raindrops, and a wonderful, round-headed, dancing figure called Particle.

A personal favorite was “The Throne of Broken Toys,” a small enclave next door filled with vintage Tonka and Fisher-Price toys and other playthings. The installation was intended to evoke bittersweet nostalgia, which is what Particle Ink does today.
