Travis and Jason Kelce delve deep into the lore of Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.

The Monday night countdown The 36-year-old analyst and the 35-year-old Kansas City Chiefs star reviewed the 2005 film in the first installment of their bonus New heights podcast, New Heights Film Club, on Wondery+. And while they had a few criticisms, they agreed that the film was well-acted, had an interesting plot, and offered plenty of nostalgic rewatch potential.

In the film, Alexis Bledel (Lena), Amber Tamblyn (Tibby), America Ferrera (Carmen) and Blake Lively (Bridget) played four friends who go their separate ways for a summer but remain connected through a pair of jeans. A sequel was released in 2008.

The brothers disagreed about the moral of the film, with Jason saying right from the start: “The pants didn’t have much to do with the plot.”

“They were involved in everyone’s adventures,” Travis interjected.

“They were all very different, but they were united,” Jason added. “It works and is a great way to show how people who struggle with these things have to cope… I think we can all relate to these different characters.”

Jason added: “I think it’s a good film that ages well and tells storylines that are important to women.”

“It was almost nostalgic,” Travis said. “I love watching films from the early 2000s, ’90s and childhood because it’s almost like you can imagine yourself in that era of life.
