Outer Banks has been dethroned from Netflix’s top 10 list by a new show

Well, if you only release half a season at a time, it will disappear from the Netflix top 10 list faster than it would otherwise. That’s what just happened with Part 1 of Outer Banks Season 4, where the other half will debut in a month.

But good news! It was replaced by the third season of The Lincoln Lawyer not split in half, unlike Season 2, which must have faced enough backlash to warrant a switch back to the normal full-binge style. Hopefully Outer Banks season 5 will do the same. Hopefully all shows do the same thing, I’m so tired of this.

The Lincoln Lawyer doesn’t yet have enough reviews to earn a rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but the four currently listed are all positive. The first two seasons had ratings of 80% and 91% respectively. A solid performance will likely lead to another renewal, as it’s a well-watched show with a relatively low budget and plenty of source material. That it debuts straight to No. 1 is also an indicator of its health, although we’ll see how long it stays there.

As for the rest of the list, the powerful series Nobody Wants This remains at number 4, arguably one of the best series that Netflix has released this year and yes, don’t worry, it has already been renewed for the second season after its great success at the top 10 here. Another new show on the list is a new season of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory, which is coming to theaters for the second time.

Love is Blind Season Infinity (Season 7) is at number 3 as it continues to air new episodes and is Netflix’s most popular reality series by a wide margin. This show releases an average of two seasons per year and will continue to do so indefinitely. This will easily last as long as “The Bachelor/Bachelorette,” which of course is still on. Netflix will never let this go.

The controversial book Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story is at number 6 and we haven’t received any further news about the next Ed Gein entry other than the oddly cast Charlie Hunnam, who will take on the role following his appearance in the Netflix series becomes rebel moon.

I expect ten full episodes of The Lincoln Lawyer to be released at once to stay at #1 for a while. That means “Outer Banks” will be back up there in the second half if people remember to watch it.
