Rape of a child, indecent assault charges against Lansdale man in court

MD Nimur Hossin, 25, of Spruce Street, Lansdale, is free on $100,000 bond.

A Lansdale man, free on $100,000 bond, has had charges of rape of a child and other sexual offenses held for county trial after a preliminary waiver of the hearing last week.

Md. Nimur Hossin, 25, of East Main Street, was charged with aggravated rape of a child, two felony counts each of aggravated indecent assault on a child, indecent assault on a person under 13 years of age and contact with a minor, authorities said sexual offenses and two counts of indecent assault on a person under the age of 13, stemming from incidents that allegedly occurred in May 2018, when the victim was five years old.

On July 25, Lansdale police and the Montgomery County Department of Children and Youth Services received a referral regarding an allegation of sexual abuse of a female juvenile victim, police said. In a subsequent interview with investigators, the girl claimed that she was sexually abused by Hossin on multiple occasions when he was 17, according to charging documents.

On September 3, Hossin was interviewed by police about the alleged incidents. Hossin reportedly said the incident only happened once, rather than the three or four times the victim claimed, according to the complaint. He also told police that the victim could not have “adult feelings” because she was young, according to the affidavit.

Montgomery County detectives administered a lie detector to Hossin, police said, but the results of the test were not included in the probable cause affidavit.

Formal arraignment in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court is scheduled for Nov. 20.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled from public court records.
