Suriya 44 is an action-romance drama

Karthik Subbaraj has established himself as a great director with films like Pizza, Jigarthanda, Petta, Mahaan and Jigarthanda DoubleX. He is working with Nadippin Nayan Suriya for his upcoming film Suriya 44. The writer-director has made it his trademark to make gangster dramas and hence Suriya44 is also expected to be another work of his.

But the director, while talking to a Tamil podcast channel, clarified that he is not making a gangster drama with Suriya. He explained that the film is a love story and that its core is a sweet love story. He explained that he always wanted to make a love story and finally got the chance to make one that people will talk about.

He further explained that the film is an action-romance drama with big action scenes but it is a love story. He noted that he was looking forward to working with Suriya and Pooja Hegde even before shooting the film. He later expressed his happiness that Suriya loved him and was mentioned as his brother.

The director stated that Suriya was kind and extremely friendly towards him. He described their bond as something that goes beyond a working relationship. Suriya, on the other hand, dropped hints about Rolex as it is a film connected to his earlier film.

Now fans are busy imagining him in a love story after a long time and thinking about the likely connection between the Vikram film’s Rolex and his older films.
