One dead, three injured after crash on Highway 67 in Jefferson County

A fatal accident occurred on October 17, 2024 at 11:14 a.m. on northbound Highway 67 at Meyer Road in Jefferson County, Missouri. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 2022 Subaru Ascent and a 2006 Toyota Corolla were involved in the collision.

The accident occurred when both drivers failed to keep an eye on the traffic lights. The driver of the Subaru, 71-year-old Gerald J. Feuling of Pearland, Texas, attempted to stop at a red signal, but his vehicle began to slide into the intersection. The Toyota Corolla, driven by 44-year-old Todd T. Tyson of Desoto, Missouri, struck the rear of the Subaru.

Tyson was taken to Mercy Hospital-Jefferson, where he was treated at 11:53 a.m. by Dr. Azharuddin was declared dead. Tyson was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Three other people were injured in the collision. Gerald J. Feuling suffered minor injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital-Jefferson by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance District. His passenger, 75-year-old Catherine L. Feuling, also of Pearland, Texas, suffered serious injuries and was taken to the same hospital. A passenger in the Toyota, 28-year-old Cristia J. Cheatham of Desoto, Missouri, also suffered serious injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital-Jefferson.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Pippins Towing. The accident was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
