It’s the ’80s-set series that’s finally hitting our screens this week, and honestly, Rivals is going to be a true drama.

Starring David Tennant, Alex Hassell (The Boys) and Aidan Turner (Poldark), the series is based on Jilly Cooper’s novel of the same name and follows the fight for independent television in Rutshire.

The struggle for power is certainly a major aspect of the series, as are the raunchy debacles that transpire among the townspeople, but pretty quickly you’ll also realize that Rivals has a truly outstanding soundtrack.

From the unforgettable introductory scene soundtracked by Robert Palmer’s Addicted to Love to hits from The Clash, Blondie and The Pointer Sisters, it’s safe to say Rivals’ music will transport you.
