Fighters “from Jordan” wounded Israeli soldiers in shots at the border

At least two Israeli soldiers were injured in an attack by gunmen entering Israeli territory from Jordan, according to Israeli media reports.

Friday’s incident occurred in Neot HaKikar in the southern Dead Sea area, near the border with Jordan.

According to Israeli media, Israeli soldiers were searching the area for another possible attacker, while the Israeli army said it had killed two of the attackers and was searching for a third who fled the scene.

Military officials urged residents in the area to stay home while soldiers conduct searches.

In September, Jordanian citizen and truck driver Maher Dhiab al-Jazi was shot dead at the Allenby Bridge, which crosses the occupied West Bank, after killing three Israeli security guards.
