One man has been charged with attempted murder after he was stabbed twice in Martinsburg on Tuesday morning

October 17, 2024 – At approximately 10:38 a.m. on October 15, 2024, Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office deputies received a report of a knife attack in Berkeley County. Central Dispatch told deputies there were two victims at Berkeley Medical Center.

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division was assigned to conduct this investigation. Investigators were able to locate William Redman as the suspect in the stabbing. Officers were quickly able to locate Redman in the area of ​​the Economy Inn and took him into custody.

Investigators then learned that the stabbing occurred at 39 Nannette Drive Martinsburg, West Virginia 25401 and executed a search warrant for the residence. Officers discovered a large amount of blood in the house and were able to secure evidence of the crime.

Mr Redman was charged with two counts of attempted murder and two counts of wounding with intent. Anyone with information is asked to contact lead investigator Cpl. Dopson at 304-267-7000.

The white woman has been released from the hospital and the man remains in critical condition.

Accused:

William Matthew Redman Black/Male 57 years old (No fixed address)
