After Rishabh Pant, another star batter faces India’s injury scare

This will add to India’s headache.

During the ongoing 1st Test IND vs NZ, India suffered a major blow on the second day of play (October 17) after Rishabh Pant left the field due to a blow on his knee.

India were already struggling after posting their lowest total at home (46) and then Rishabh’s injury caused even more headaches for the hosts.

Now, on the third day (October 18), India suffered another setback after another batting star got injured.

In the 55th over of New Zealand’s innings, Daryl Mitchell caught a throw from Mohammed Siraj into the gully region.

Batting sensation Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was stationed at the gorge, managed to take a sharp catch but immediately started shaking his hand and clutching his fingers.

He was seen leaving the field and being replaced by Axar Patel while Sarfaraz Khan took his place in the fence.

However, unlike Pant, Yashasvi Jaiswal later returned to the field to open the batting for India’s second innings and is currently looking good.

New Zealand are clearly in the lead by 356 runs

Speaking of the game, after India put up a horror batting show, the visiting New Zealanders capitalized on it and posted an impressive score of 402.

Rachin Ravindra hit an outstanding century and scored 134 runs, coupled with Devon Conway’s 91 runs helped New Zealand to a massive lead of 356 runs.

In India, spinners dominated with Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav taking three wickets each. Siraj got two while Bumrah and Ashwin had one scalp each.
