6+ new things coming to Silver Dollar City in 2025

Behind the breathtaking rides, eye-catching shows and delicious food, the creatives and staff at Silver Dollar City were hard-working.

Silver Dollar City announced Thursday its largest investment in park history: Silver Dollar City Resort. The seven-story resort will be built on a portion of the theme park’s 1,200 acres of undeveloped land to the west of the park overlooking Table Rock Lake. It is expected to open at the end of 2026. It will feature 260 themed rooms, an indoor-outdoor pool, a full-service restaurant, 1,700 square feet of meeting space and a special entrance to Silver Dollar City.

Silver Dollar City Resort is part of a half-billion dollar investment by Herschend Family Entertainment, Silver Dollar City’s parent company, over the next decade. Of the $500 million total, about $100 million will be used for the Silver Dollar City Resort, Herschend CEO Andrew Wexler told the News-Leader.

While it will still be two years before Silver Dollar City Resort opens its doors, there will be plenty more new festivals, shows and expansions at the theme park in 2025.

Spring exhibition

The Spring Exhibition will be new to Silver Dollar City’s festival program in 2025. It will take place from April 10, 2025 to May 12, 2025.

Notably, the Springfield Exposition coincides with the opening of an expanded plaza – the same space that houses Pumpkin Plaza during the park’s Harvest Festival.

The festival will also feature a new Parasol Sky over Valley Road, a new Fest House at Red Gold Heritage Hall, the Down-Home Clogging Jamboree and the Ragtime Piano Showman. Jambalaya noodles, shrimp po’ boy sandwiches, an Ozarks fish fry, fried cheese curds and cornbread salad will also be part of the new festival’s menu.

New summer shows, fireworks and extended opening hours

A new Wild West comedy stunt show and the Silver Dollar Circus will premiere during Silver Dollar City’s Summer Celebration, running from June 7, 2025 to August 3, 2025. In addition to the park’s evening fireworks display, a drone display will be added to enrich the evening experience.

Between July 12, 2025 and August 3, 2025, Silver Dollar City is extending its hours until 10 p.m

“Heart of Christmas”

In about a year, Silver Dollar City will premiere a new show for its An Old Time Christmas Festival, running from November 1, 2025 to December 30, 2025. The show “Heart of Christmas” will feature bluegrass musician Rhonda. Vincent is open every day in December. Family band Lindley Creek will headline the show throughout November.

In addition to “Heart of Christmas,” the theme park will debut a new Grand Plaza fir tree and lighting ceremony in 2025, comparable to the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree, said President Brad Thomas.
