Trio charged after shooting, drug deal collapsed

(Guadalupe County) – A drug exchange deal allegedly made over social media quickly led to one person being shot and three suspects now facing criminal charges.

Guadalupe County Sheriff’s investigators say the incident involved a 20-year-old man and an 18-year-old man who were reportedly meeting a 15-year-old. Officials say officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Birmendsorf shortly after 3:30 p.m. Monday because shots were heard in the area.

The complainant told officers that they heard three or four gunshots and saw a young man running toward State Highway 123. They also reported seeing a black car leaving the area toward the highway.

While officers were on scene, another call came out to the 100 block of Armor regarding a 15-year-old male who was being assaulted.

The investigation revealed that the 15-year-old who was attacked reportedly responded to an argument between both parties by shooting the 18-year-old in the leg.

The 18-year-old was treated and released at Resolute Hospital in New Braunfels, while the 15-year-old was also treated and released at Christus Santa Rosa in San Marcos.

Officials say charges will be filed against all individuals.
