West Farms: Person wanted for attempted kidnapping of a 2-year-old child

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the individual seen in the attached photos who they believe is wanted in connection with a kidnapping attempt in West Farms.

Police said that on Tuesday, October 15, at approximately 6:50 p.m., an unknown person followed a 23-year-old woman and her two-year-old child into a laundry room at 988 East 180th Street.

“Once inside, the unknown person grabbed the victim by the arm and demanded that she give her the child,” police said. “The victim was able to escape from the unknown person. The child remained safe and secure with the mother.” The police said the person they were looking for fled in the elevator and got off on the 12th floor. They said there were no injuries in the incident.
