Eagles vs. Giants injury report

Eagles vs. Giants injury report

Meanwhile up the New Jersey Turnpike…

The Giants will be without left tackle Andrew Thomas for the remainder of the season after he underwent foot surgery, the team announced. Thomas told reporters that he suffered the injury in the third quarter of Sunday night’s loss to the Bengals but overcame it. The Giants’ starting offensive line played 100 percent of snaps through Week 6.

This series ends on Sunday.

Third-year lineman Joshua Ezeudu is expected to start in Thomas’ absence. Ezeudu started five games in 2023 as Thomas struggled with a hamstring injury. For the season, Ezeudu posted a PFF grade of 48 and a pass blocking grade of 39.3.

Two-time Pro Bowl edge rusher Brian Burns did not practice for the Giants on Wednesday. Acquired in an offseason trade from the Carolina Panthers, Burns has two sacks for the Giants but battled a groin injury in Sunday’s loss.

Defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence, a 340-pound wrecking ball in the middle of the Giants’ defensive line, also did not practice Wednesday as he is dealing with a hip injury.

According to head coach Brian Daboll, both Burns and Lawrence are β€œon a daily basis.”

Daboll added that the Giants are “optimistic” about the return of first-round draft pick Malik Nabers, who missed the last two games with a concussion. Nabers was a restricted, no-contact participant.

Running back Devin Singletary was also limited in participation after missing Sunday night’s game with a groin injury. He had limited training all last week and was unable to participate.

Punter Jamie Gillan, who was inactive Sunday night with a hamstring injury, also missed Wednesday’s practice. The Giants signed Matt Haack to the active roster last week to replace Gillan.

Three of the Giants’ other wide receivers – Bryce Ford-Wheaton (shoulder), Wan’Dale Robinson (ankle) and Darius Slayton (groin) – were limited Wednesday, along with linebacker Ty Summers (hamstring).

  • OLB Brian Burns (groin)
  • P Jamie Gillan (left hamstring)
  • DT Dexter Lawrence (hip)
  • T Andrew Thomas (foot)
  • WR Bryce Ford-Wheaton (shoulder)
  • WR Makik Nabers (concussion, non-contact)
  • WR Wan’Dale Robinson (ankle)
