Bolivar man sentenced to 10 to 20 years in prison for sexual assault of young girl | Condition

GREENSBURG — A Bolivar man was sentenced this week to 10 to 20 years in a state correctional facility for repeatedly sexually abusing a young girl.

Westmoreland County Common Pleas Judge Meagan Bilik-DeFazio also ordered 60-year-old Jerry Allen Boring to register under Megan’s Law and comply with all sex offender conditions set forth in that law.

Bilik-DeFazio also sentenced Boring to three years probation upon his release from prison and ordered him not to have unsupervised contact with minors.

Westmoreland County District Attorney Nicole W. Ziccarelli said Boring was found guilty in April on all counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault in a 2017 case.

Ziccarelli said the victim, now 16, told authorities in 2022 that Boring began sexually assaulting her in 2017. According to court documents, the attacks occurred in Fairfield Township in northeast Westmoreland County.

“I am pleased that we have been able to bring justice to this young girl and her family as she continues to recover,” Ziccarelli said after the trial in April. “I would also like to thank Assistant District Attorney Katie Ranker and Officer James McKenzie for investigating and prosecuting this case with the integrity it deserves.”

Boring was represented by attorney Sarah Reeb of the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office.
