Two criminal charges police could pursue after Liam Payne’s death | Celebrity News | Showbiz and television

Liam Payne’s sudden death in a Buenos Aires hotel on Wednesday night has left thousands of fans, relatives and fellow musicians who loved the singer “devastated”. His former One Direction bandmates expressed their sadness in a heartfelt statement, saying: “We will miss him terribly. We love you, Liam.”

Argentine police are actively investigating the situation surrounding Liam’s sudden death following a fall from the third floor balcony of the upscale CasaSur Palermo hotel in the Argentine capital. Immediately after the tragedy late on Wednesday evening, police officers are said to have entered his hotel room and confiscated a number of items.

An autopsy conducted shortly after his death at the Buenos Aires Supreme Court morgue attributed his death to “multiple injuries and internal and external bleeding resulting from the fall.” However, with officials classifying the incident as a “doubtful death,” Argentine media suggest that certain individuals could face two separate criminal charges for their role in Wednesday night’s sad events.

Prosecutors admitted interviewing five people immediately after Liam’s death, including three hotel workers and two women who were believed to have been with him just hours earlier. Investigators said they were striving to put together a “reconstruction of his final hours.”

They clarified that these women “had already left the hotel when the incident occurred.”

“Several substances” were confiscated from Liam’s tragic hotel room, the Mirror reports. along with whiskey bottles, his cellphone, laptop and fingerprints as authorities investigate who was present in the room and where the alleged drugs came from.

It remains unclear how illegal substances possibly ended up in the 31-year-old singer’s suite at CasaSur.

The medical examiners clearly determined that the singer had not suffered any “defensive injuries” and that all 25 identified wounds were due to his tragic fall from the balcony, a harrowing fall estimated to be around 14 meters high. This has resulted in a clear indication that “third-party intervention would be ruled out in the dramatic moments that led to Liam’s fatal fall”.

Still, officials are reportedly considering two possible charges related to Wednesday night’s horrific events. These criminal charges could concern both “supply of narcotics and providing a place for their consumption.”

The British Embassy in Argentina has confirmed that it is in contact with local authorities, confirming: “We support the family of Liam Payne, who died in Argentina, and we are in contact with local authorities.”
