Fall River police said an investigation into the Dickinson Street incident is ongoing.

Fall River police are investigating an incident that left one person dead and another injured Wednesday, the Bristol County district attorney said in a statement.

A 911 call around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday alerted police to two injured people at 490 Dickinson St., the statement said. Police said they found a 55-year-old man with “multiple stab wounds” and a woman with a single gunshot wound.

First responders took both victims to local hospitals for medical treatment, the statement said.

The woman, identified in the statement as 42-year-old Remy Aull, was pronounced dead at Rhode Island Hospital at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday.

The prosecutor’s office said the Massachusetts State Police, the Fall River Homicide Unit and the state attorney general’s office are investigating the incident.
