Police say woman stabs her ex-boyfriend with a combat knife

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Memphis police have arrested and charged a woman accused of stabbing her ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend.

On October 16, officers responded to an aggravated assault call on Finley Road.

When officers arrived, they were met by suspect Kayla Polk, who told them that the victim, her ex-boyfriend, had gone to the hospital.

According to the affidavit, a witness told police that Polk became upset with the victim when she learned he had a new girlfriend; The witness says Polk entered the victim’s apartment and, when he found out about his new girlfriend, stabbed him with a combat knife.

According to MPD, the victim suffered cuts to his arm from the stabbing.

Police also allege Polk tried to hide evidence of the stabbing by cleaning the crime scene with bleach.

After further investigation, Polk was taken into custody and is now charged with aggravated assault and tampering with evidence.
