Valley teen writes children’s book to raise awareness of epilepsy

A Valley teenager is raising awareness of an important health issue with her own children’s book.

Alex Zamesnik is only 17 years old, but she has already written Allie’s Little Lightbulb, which she uses to teach elementary school students about epilepsy. She also holds seminars and events on the topic “What to do if you have epileptic episodes?”

She knows firsthand what to do, having struggled with epilepsy for nearly a decade.

ABC15 accompanied Zamesnik on Thursday as she visited Williams Field High School to teach them the potentially life-saving information.
