Second man convicted in Altoona shooting

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – A Cadott man will serve several years in prison for the 2022 shooting death of an Altoona man.

On Thursday in Eau Claire District Court, 28-year-old Kemone Golden was sentenced to 11 years in prison followed by four years of extended supervision with credit for 488 days for time served.

In July, Golden pleaded no contest to charges of murder as an accessory to a felony and possession of a firearm by an out-of-state felon.

In September 2022, Eau Claire police investigated the death of 39-year-old Christopher Conner, who was found with a gunshot wound near the intersection of Bergen and Bellevue Avenue.

On Wednesday, Xavier Thompson was sentenced in the same case.
