Police are investigating a fatal knife attack on a man found under an underpass on the 405 Freeway

Police said they responded early Wednesday morning to the 3300 block of Long Beach Boulevard where they found the man.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, investigators are investigating the death of a man who was found with multiple stab wounds under the 405 Freeway underpass near Long Beach Boulevard and Wardlow Road.

According to police, around 12:35 a.m. Wednesday, officers were called to the 3300 block of Long Beach Boulevard to search for a person lying in the roadway.

When officers arrived, they found the man under the underpass with multiple stab wounds.

Despite efforts by the Long Beach Fire Department to save his life, the man died at the hospital, police said. His identity was not immediately released as the Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s Office works to notify his family.

It is not yet clear whether the man was stabbed there or elsewhere, and there are no suspects as homicide investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the stabbing, the department said.
