PCMC: PCMC School Staff Arrested for Sexually Harassing Students: Shocking Details Revealed | Pune News

Pune: The Pimpri Chinchwad Police on Thursday arrested a 32-year-old administrator of a PCMC-contracted school on charges of sexually abusing two students, aged 13 and 15, after one of the girls narrated her ordeal during a “Good Touch, Bad Touch” session had on Tuesday.
During the session, the girl also told a counselor that the suspect had also sexually molested another 15-year-old student. The counselor immediately alerted the school principal, who informed the parents of the two girls and also lodged a complaint against the suspect with the Dapodi police.
“The suspect sexually harassed the two students between August and October 2 this year. We have filed a case against the suspect, a resident of Kondhwa, under Sections 4 and 8 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (Pocso) Act. He was arrested within 12 hours of the complaint,” senior inspector Nilesh Waghmare of Dapodi police told TOI.
PCMCDirector of civic education department Vijay Thorat told TOI, “The company has outsourced the school to a private organization. Immediately after the incident came to light, a case was registered with the police School administration has already fired the accused employee.”
Thorat said he and education ministry officials visited the school. “We are preparing a report on this issue to take appropriate action,” he said.
