Woodland man arrested for arson and criminal use of explosive devices

WOODLAND, Maine (WAGM) – A man has been arrested for allegedly using explosive devices to attack several people in the town of Woodland.

Joshua Brydon, 37, of Woodland, was arrested by Maine State Police on Saturday, October 12th.

Brydon is charged with: 5 counts of arson, 1 count of attempted arson, 6 counts of criminal use of explosives, 2 counts of stalking and 1 count of endangering the welfare of a child.

The arrest followed an 18-month investigation into incidents in which improvised explosive devices were used to attack multiple victims in the town of Woodland. Some of the devices were dropped by UAS (drones), while others were placed or thrown by hand.

According to Houlton District Court, Brydon made his first appearance on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. He is currently being held at the Aroostook County Jail.
