Man dies in construction accident in Lehi

LEHI — A man died after firefighters said he was likely pinned against a forklift for hours at a construction site in northern Utah County.

Lehi firefighters responded to a report of a fatality at a construction site at 3249 N. 1200 West just before 11:30 a.m. Thursday, according to Lehi emergency spokeswoman Jeanteil Livingston. The man, whose name and age were not immediately released, was found nailed to the construction vehicle.

It is unclear when the incident occurred. Livingston said the man’s wife went to the site Thursday morning after he did not return home Wednesday evening. The man’s wife and colleagues found his body before calling emergency services.

Investigators believe the man probably died overnight. The Utah County SWAT team was called in Thursday afternoon to help recover the man’s body.

The incident remains under investigation.
