Killeen police are investigating the 18th homicide of 2024

KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) – No arrests have been made as detectives investigate Killeen’s 18th homicide of the year.

On October 16, at approximately 10:40 p.m., officers responded to a 911 call regarding a gunshot victim in the 800 block of W. Avenue D.

When officers arrived, they found a 37-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police said the victim was flown to Baylor Scott and White Hospital in critical condition.

The victim unfortunately succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead at 6:34 a.m. on October 17, 2024 by Judge Larry Wilkey.

Police are not yet ready to release the victim’s name.
