After serving her sentence, 42-year-old Erin Carr must serve six years of probation.

Carr is accused of high-speed driving and driving under the influence in a crash that killed John Xirafakis, also of Michigan.

When officers arrived at the scene, Carr immediately told them she was not driving the car, even though Xirafakis was in the passenger seat, according to an affidavit written by Allen County Sheriff’s Officer Calvin Yates. She admitted to police that she had been drinking alcohol before the accident.

Carr also told them that she had done “a line” of cocaine because she and Xirafakis were driving to Kentucky, court records show. A chemical test found traces of cocaine and methamphetamine in Carr’s blood.

Although Carr claimed she was not driving, items found on the driver’s side floorboard suggested Carr was the driver despite her claims.
