Funeral service announced for fifth grader who died in tragic ATV accident

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) – Funeral arrangements have been announced for a Sulfur fifth-grader who died in a tragic ATV accident earlier this week.

Visitation for Reid Michael Briggs will be Friday, October 18, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Victory Worship Center, 1410 W Napoleon St. in Sulfur. Visitation will continue Saturday morning at 10 a.m. and continue until the funeral service at noon.

Reid played multiple sports and was nominated for Student of the Year at VIncent Settlement Elementary. A family member also started a fundraiser for Reid’s parents.
