Man, three teenagers arrested for gang crime

ITHACA (WBNG) – Ithaca Police on Thursday updated a gang dispute that occurred in August.

Ithaca police identified the suspects as three juveniles and one adult. All four suspects were arrested on gang-related charges, referred to Tompkins County Family Court and then released to their parents, the department said.

On August 24, around midnight, Ithaca police officers were dispatched to an area of the 200 block of East State St. for a report of a dispute. When police arrived, they spoke with two victims who reported four people physically attacked them and fled on foot before police arrived. The victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries, the department said.

IPD said during the attack, the suspects reportedly made derogatory comments about the victim’s ethnicity, making this incident a potential hate crime.

After a thorough investigation, the IPD stated there was no evidence to support the claim of a hate crime.

IPD said Kaeden Denmark of Spencer, NY, 21, was the identified adult. Denmark was arraigned in Ithaca Municipal Court and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail.
